Brownfield site, Peel Promenade Housing Development
This project proposes the redevelopment of the former Empire Garage brownfield site on Peel Promenade, delivering seven new homes across a split-site location between Marine Parade and Gib Lane.
Along the Promenade, a terrace of four three-bedroom, three-storey houses responds to the scale and character of the surrounding streetscape and Peel conservation area. Upper-level terraces take advantage of views across Peel Bay, while red sandstone façades reference the materials found within the historic town. Across Gib Lane, facing Stanley Road, three additional homes adopt a more traditional form, integrating with the surrounding residential context and reinforcing the character of the conservation area. The scheme demonstrates a contextual approach to housing development, delivering new homes that respond sensitively to Peel’s urban fabric. The project is currently on site and due to complete in 2026.
