Heywood Court.
Heywood Court is a sheltered housing development in Onchan, delivered for Onchan Commissioners to provide accommodation designed specifically for older residents wishing to remain independent while living within a supportive community. The scheme comprises a number of self-contained flats, providing accessible homes suited to residents of retirement age. The development includes communal facilities and an alarm call system, allowing residents to contact assistance in the event of an emergency while maintaining independent living. Sheltered housing developments such as Heywood Court enable residents to continue living independently within their community, while benefiting from shared facilities, neighbourly support and a well-managed residential environment. The project forms part of the wider provision of later living housing on the Isle of Man, supporting residents who are capable of independent living but benefit from the security and community provided by sheltered accommodation.
