Rear Kitchen Extension.

This project involved the extension and reconfiguration of an existing home in Manor Park, Onchan, creating a brighter and more functional layout better suited to modern family living.

The extension adopts a contemporary architectural approach, with black zinc cladding providing a crisp contrast to the existing timber-framed aesthetic. Internally, the layout was carefully reworked to relocate the kitchen to the rear of the property, forming a generous open-plan kitchen, dining and living space overlooking the mature garden. Two large roof lanterns introduce natural light deep into the centre of the home, while expansive sliding glazing strengthens the connection between the interior and exterior spaces and maximises views across the garden.

The project demonstrates how thoughtful extensions and alterations can transform an existing property while remaining sensitive to the character of the original house.
